I for one applaud those that take on some new projects... in fact I even
voiced my support for Ken when he asked on facebook for peoples opinions on
the project. I said do it if its something he wants to take on, it can be
fun! In the end, the whole community wins. Can't beat that.
As for the Vanagon Rescue Squad, VanAlert has been given permission to
absorb their member database into our app. I am currently going through the
database one user at a time contacting them to make sure their information
is correct and updated. Nothing worse than out dated information when
you're broken down. The migration is a slow process... probably 300 members
out of 1300 have already been emailed in order to 1. get their permission
to be moved over to VanAlert and 2. to make sure all of their contact info
is correct.
