I used Hankook RA 08 195R14 tires that I got from Discount Tires for one set. They did well so far as handling, back country tolerance, highway driving. However, I only got about 30K miles from a rather expensive set of tires. Now I have Vredestein All Weather (not all season, all weather, with the mountain snowflake emblem) to avoid summer/winter switch at $90 twice each year. We'll see how that goes, they came highly recommended by other list members. The only thing I don't like about them so far is that they are directional tires, complicating including the spare in rotation.

I prefer the extra half inch of height for the slightly better clearance on back roads.
