Subject: Late Model Dometic Refrigerator selector switch defective
Content-Type: text/plain; charset=UTF-8

My brother ownes a 1990 Vanagon in Switzerland he bought last year. On his first longer trip to Italy last year he was having problems with his refrigerator. The push button selector switch for propane kept popping out. He eventually solved the problem by keeping the button in with a toothpick. In Switzerland RV's with a propane tank have to be reguarly inspected and certified. Because of this issue, he is not passing the inspection (tough laws there). He is unable to find a replacement switch in Switzerland and I tried to find the selector with the 3 push buttons online here, but also could not find anything. Has anyone of you had this problem? Can these buttons be disassembled and repaired or would have one of you guys have a spare set for sale?

As a last resort, it might be possible to replace the push button switch with a 3-position toggle switch, similar to the one used for the older model dometic fridge.

Bruno
