Subject: Part Friday -- Headlight Switch Hazard
Content-Type: text/plain; charset=UTF-8

Last night I pulled my headlight switch (87 Wolfsburg, but I believe this would apply to all models) to verify type before ordering a spare. While counting pins, I noticed the years of dust-covered gunk, so today I hit it with spray contact cleaner. Among the crud that came out were two centipedes. I checked both the Bentley and the archives and see no mention of centipedes, so I assume they're not original and I'm better off without them.

Old lesson repeated: cleaning stuff is a good idea. Also, in case there's an entomologist reading, I ain't up on my phyla, many-legged critters are pretty much all the same to me.
