I'm an advocate of lifting the whole body, using a transmission jack to take out one piece at a time... this made light work of removing and reinstalling an engine for me recently... I stupidly used the stock jack to lift one side at a time and slid a ramp under each wheel. I won't do that again... worked, but that's because my engine was half undressed already and I couldn't drive on to ramps...
