Hey Jim. where are you? What year? That reply about speaker placement has got me wondering. I had a 84.5 and a 85 and don't remember a difference in speakers. The part about mirrors is one I hadn't thought of until you mentioned it. I have standard (non-electric) mirrors. Is the mount different for electric mirrors? Dave B.

All doors fit all models, basically, I'm pretty sure. The differences are going to be things like the style of mirror mounts, where the speakers are located, that's about it.
I have a passenger door but it sounds like you are pretty far away. I can be shipped by bus, though.

It got punched in on the mid to lower front and the window cranks, but will only go down about a third of the way. The door opens and closes, although closes a bit hard. There is also some damage to the front pillar, but does not appear serious. I haven't been to a body shop yet, but the insurance adjuster indicated I may need a door. So, here are my questions. What door fits an '87 Westy, any idea where I may find one (I live just north of Boston, MA), and about how much should one pay? I know that last one is a shot in the dark, but I have only bought whole Vanagons, not just doors and have no idea what I should expect. Any list knowledge would be helpful in this stressful situation. Thanks Dave B. |
