Hi everyone. I'm a relative newcomer to the community. I invested a huge amount of time/energy trolling Samba, Craigslist and Ebay for a "good deal" before finally taking the plunge on a 1985 Weekender last October. I still periodically follow the various marketplaces - and remain puzzled by the significant variability in "asking prices" - especially on Samba. I should probably disclose that I am a procurement professional by day (which may explain my weird obsession with market pricing). I suspect that most of us would be keen to have access to market data on Vanagon prices. Perhaps the more interesting question is whether there are enough of us willing to disclose what we paid for our van(s). I think it wouldn't be terribly difficult to manage such a database on an anonymous basis. There's no need to list names of buyers or sellers. I'd certainly be willing to contribute the 'data' from my purchase - heck, I'd even be happy to compile a database (assuming there's interest). Anyone else interested? Aaron
