john are you still trying to sell your '91 carat?  :)

anyway vanagon prices are all over the place.   you can ask  whatever you
want, doesn't mean youll get it.

i had a '89 carat i sold to a listmember here for like $2500 8 years  ago.
 he drove it for several years, and then resold it last summer  for the
same amount ($2500) i sold it to him for 8 years ago.
Like i said prices are all over the place.  it really goes by model,
condition and location. people have becaome starry-eyed over the inflated
goWesty-esque prices and and other samba cream puff pricing...

i always found it funny though how vanagons are more expensive on the west
coast  - where they are all over the place - but yet out here on the east
coast where they are "rare" they tend to go really cheap..

years ago when i used to buy and sell vans , almost every passenger van i
got i would part it out...simply because it wasn't a camper.  i looked at
passenger vans as just parts cars... now i see them on samba for 5 or 6 grand
 ... times have changed..

i bought my '89 westy for $4500 bucks..

just a few days ago, a '87 westy weekender sold on the central NJ
craigslist for $2500.

cheap ones are still out there...
