Hi all.

This is regarding the rubber piece in a spark plug socket (tool). I always thought the sole purpose of that rubber was to keep the plug in the socket when removing plug from engine. Maybe not. Link to image of what I mean:

The socket I used is missing that rubber piece. I've used it many times before w/o issue so was surprised to see this happen. The plug has relatively low miles on it. The tip came off with the high tension lead. I may have jarred it loose by the socket I was using but it seemed unusual to me. I do see some corrosion where the tip broke off.
