I have an 84... the pressure switches on the MC were the cause of my problems. Don't get the cheap ones. I've changed these about 3 times in the past 5 years, and finally went with only the ATE brand. 2 prong through 1986. (Power assist) with provision for 2 switches. ** Models thru 1986 use 113 945 515H, 2 Pole Brake Light Switch** ** Models 87-89 use 113 945 515G, 3 Pole Brake Light Switch**

Best price I've found for the ATE brand. https://www.fcpeuro.com/products/porsche-brake-light-switch-ate-113945515h

FCP also provides a FREE Lifetime Guarantee on ALL Parts, even wear out items!

Switches can be replaced without removal of the MC.
