Ben,

I have pics now, will send to you and ken.

These are in fact branded made in Australia, but I don't see any metal supports. Are they missing or is this just another one of those things.

I mistakenly thought they were from VW Australia but Phill Landers set me straight. The Aussie version had metal supports. Whereas, these are all plastic with curved edges to engage the opening around the rectangular headlights. Later, I was able to purchase a couple of sets which looked virtually identical (sans logo and stripes) from Bus Depot for around $45-$50. It's been a longtime and I think Ron Salmon didn't have any left. I recall having a conversation with Ron & Cheri Reid, who was then with the Skylightguy, about reproducing them. I don't think it ever got off the ground. > > You can still find vendors off eBay to make the covers but they usually some dark tinted plastic with a hideous logo on the corner. > > > BenT > sent from my electronic leash > >> On May 3, 2017, at 10:52 AM, Alistair Bell <albell@SHAW.CA> wrote: >> >> I'll ask him to take a couple of pics. >> >> Alistair >> >> >>> On May 3, 2017, at 9:55 AM, kenneth wilford (Van-Again) <kenwilfy@comcast.net> wrote: >>> >>> Alistair, that is good to know. I have never seen the VW branded version. I wonder if these were made by the same company in Canada that made the OE ones, and they just sold them as aftermarket as well once their agreement with VW was over? >>> >>> Interesting... >>> >>> Ken
