I don't mind. Purchased 84 manual Westie in W. North Carolina 5 years ago
in 2012 for $4800. I was third owner, second owner bought it 6mos prior for
the same price from original owner in Arizona. Clean, unmolested, no rust,
tiny bit of body damage at 200k miles. Since then have dropped a new GW
2.2, refurbed most everything and it all works as stock and drives like a
vintage dream. Professionally appraised a year ago (prior to new engine) at
$16k.
Would I get that? Don't know probably at the top and not going to find
out.I am pretty tapped into the VW community in the SE and these days I see
basket cases selling for close to 10k. I live in Asheville, NC so the
market is hot with all our trust fund hipster milleniels so would probably
get a good price here with nice later years going for 20k?
Always interesting seeing how much could people are willing to drop!
