Hi all. This is regarding a Jetta ABA engine in a Vanagon. I intend to replace 2 coolant flex hoses on my Vanagon with 1.25" hose from my local semi truck repair shop. It's on order. It's application may be for a semi truck heater core circuit. A similar 1" hose I saw at this shop took a large radius 90ยบ bend which for my uses, would be ideal. IF this new 1.25" hose is intended for heater core circuit, would (possibly) hotter coolant straight from the engine cause it to balloon out or otherwise fail prematurely? The longest piece would be about 3'. The flex hoses I'm replacing have a thinner wall construction. If this hose is ok for this application, it might be of use for other engine swappers requiring custom hoses. It might eliminate some cooling hose unions. Neil.
