I just weighed one of mine ( made two extra for clothes line etc) and it weighs 12g. Not bad for the thick walled stuff. If you removed half of the circle then you'd end up with pretty well the same tensioner as the bent strip type . Would work fine I think. But I like the looks of the circle. Apart from aesthetics, the complete circle makes it easier to grab and adjust. I'll take the weight penalty in the van :-) Cheers Alistair > On May 21, 2017, at 10:18 AM, OlRivrRat <OlRivrRat@comcast.net> wrote: > > Alistair > > Nicely done ~ Both Yours & Orig's ~ While I suppose they don't Weigh much, wouldn't they > > they Pack Less Bulky &, of course, Weigh Less if the Part of the Ring that Has No Holes were to be > > Removed ~ The Orig's, being of Thinner Stock Might have a Tendency to Straighten over time but > > I suspect Yours Not So Much ~ > > ORR ~ DeanB > > >> On 21 May , 2017, at 9:41 AM, Alistair Bell wrote: >> >> I made some copies of the MSR camring guy line tensioner.
