Subject: Brake warning light still
Content-Type: text/plain; charset="Windows-1252"

Brake warning light still on.

I brought my van to the mechanics and he said the 2 3 prong switches in the master cylinder are good. I got the van back because he had to put it aside for a few days. So I decided to monkey with it. I’ve even made it worse, now the lights don’t go on at all.

I re-checked the switches. They have 0 ohms on the 2 terminals when at rest and 0 ohms on the other (pair) of the terminals when depressed. The wire and switch for the parking brake work fine.

Now the brake light and seat belt light will not come on. The grey green has ground, the black has ground, the red/yellow has 2.5 V , brown and blue black have ground and the big red has no voltage or ground at all.

Suspecting the big red for the no lights problem, which I need to fix first, but I’m still puzzled by the warning light staying on.

Any help is appreciated. I’m not very optimistic but if I have to take the van back he’ll have it for weeks again.

Thanks, Bryan
