Hi, In order to do my bearings, I had to back off the rear automatic adjuster to get the drum off. I didn't touch the brake adjustment, was just doing brakes/CV lubrication. Reading the Bently, it gives a measurement for the brake shoes, which I'm within 1/8 of an inch. There is no slack on the adjuster shaft. Then the Bently says "Pump the brakes a few times" to adjust the brakes before driving. Is that all it takes? I remember having to drive in reverse in my 1972 dodge dart, pumping the brakes in order to get the adjusters to take up the slack. IIRC, the adjuster only kicked in on reverse on that car. Thanks, Steve Williams |
