Subject: Re: Scott Foss - an update

No, he is not able to do email, only occasionally talk hands free on his phone. I don't think he can write. He has someone local looking after his shop and contents, but he hasn't really been 'in business' for quite a few years and has been living in Hawaii for awhile. That's where the accident happened. His spirits are hard to say - he' been in a hospital bed since August and is only now beginning to regain use of limbs. He looks very thin and fragile. Not seemingly sad but not what I would call happy. Just dealing with this big bump in his life as well as he possibly can, while nurses and doctors have more or less taken over most of his needs. I'm not sure he will walk again or not. Very sad to see him in this way but we did have some good chat, he still really likes to talk Vanagons more than anything else and that seems to make him feel better and mind off things. I think he could stand more visitors...hopefully a few people he knows well can visit. Karl
