John,

To echo David... Have you inspected the wire? I had a very similar issue recently. had to oil switch replaced, panel checked. Turns out, the wire was touching the engine block somewhere, and it had melted and was causing inconsistent flickering, and buzzing. Some new wire and a zip tie sorted the issue.!
