Really Neil? Andrew at flint motors says the bellhousing bolt pattern the same. Don't have the 1.8t in my hands so I can't measure. Yeah, the diesel starter position is a bitch. It's a case of equal expense more or less to use adapter plate or get syncro diesel tank. Or... could I chop and weld the diesel bellhousing I have to clock the starter? I've seen it done years ago, but not sure if it worked. The bellhousing was on a shelf. Alistair
