Cleaning out the stuff sack that contains these kind of things in the van, brought out the German tent pegs. The easily broken German tent pegs that is. Did a google search and found hits saying WWII era pegs. I find that hard to believe but I'm asking the hive to give opinion based on a couple of pics here:
