Disappointed that you got the opinion that the fridge ain't worth fixing. I find that hard to believe.

Coincidentally, yesterday I was brought yet another fridge to have a quick look at. Wasn't able to bench test after going over it but I'd bet it will work.

What I found with this one was that the combustion chamber was very dirty, more than the usual amount of rust and dust. The gas jet was clear and the piezo igniter worked. The inlet and exhaust pipes were clear.

What didn't work was the air pump. I discovered that the small check valve on the air line was frozen closed, so no air was getting pumped into the chamber. I freed the valve. Didn't have time to check if the pump itself had been modified as per the Bentley instructions ( ie added o ring and enlarging the air exit hole).

Also, the cooling fan was kaputt.

Point is, only took 30 min to give the fridge a once over and didn't take much effort.
