It's a slippery slope.

If by "shop" you mean a pro repair shop then this may not apply. But if you're doing the work yourself.....

Consider this: removing the dash, especially the 2nd time, and with help, does not take very long.

At very least, inspect clutch pedal wear at hole where clutch master cylinder push rod clevis passes through. Van-cafe or gowesty have a clutch pedal exchange programme but that hole can be repaired.
