Upgrade your air conditioning: https://smallcar.com/vanagon/dash-air-for-vanagons.html Assuming you have it now, otherwise it's a lot of work and you need the Vanagon A/C compressor with bracket. But you junk the existing heater box along with everything that's in it.

Following up on my "brake pedal not retracting' question from a while ago, we finally got her into the shop and the diagnosis is that it's the brake booster (thanks for the pointer Ken!)

My new question for the list is as to what repair/replacements we might want to do while the dash is completely out. Would love to save on duplicate labor costs if we can.

This is for an 85 Westy.
