I've polished the galvey fittings, won't do that again. Apart from the hazard of polishing zinc ( bad vapour/particles to breathe) it dulls again pretty quickly. Mind you it did look sharp for a while. If I was to do it again I'd have them sandblasted and powdered. It's expensive, well it is if you get a good company to do it, but it looks cleaner. Aliatair

I prefer to clean the galvanizing, and then use a two-part epoxy paint that can handle lubricating the various joints & bearing surfaces.
