The Blue Sea 7601 is compact, the wiring connections get covered, and is also spark and weather proof. The price is also reasonable. I also find the voltage settings to be ideal for the smaller batteries most of us use. Yes even 100 A/H is a small battery.

With extending the battery box floor to the top of the frame will the group 27 battery fit with the terminals under cover or will they still stick up? I also see the possibility for using an AGM battery in this size after the mod.

Dennis

The newer, better option for a separator is the Victron. Smaller, quieter, more reliable: https://www.amazon.com/Victron-Cyrix-ct-24V-Battery-Combiner/dp/B00ZWLBZME

Don't use the 'Gowesty' battery kit or the batteries will fail quickly and expensively. Also the Odyssey PC1750 battery will fit and is 74Ah - probably a more robust choice than the 4 x 22Ah batteries. The 'next step' up in fitting a larger battery there is to cut out the bottom and fab a new deeper box - then a 100Ah group 27 will fit. :)
