Not saying this was suggested but since I was quoted....

to be clear, I wasn't saying all or a majority of Bosch rebuild-reman starters are bad.

My original post was about a Bosch rebuilt starter rebuilt by a local automotive/marine electrical specialty shop. Yes I could've been clearer about my comment on "rebuilt - reman Bosch Vanagon starter" but it was related to my original post. However. Given the age of the Vanagon Bosch starter cores, I still wonder about rebuilt starter consistency. This Bosch web page:

https://www.boschautoparts.com/en/auto/alternators-and-starters/remanufactured-starters

shows: "Armature continuity tested, gauged, straightened and shimmed". And that's great but from what I've read, IF it's true that the wire windings build resistance with age, or rather use, (I can't see this but then those factors are well beyond my scope), that alone would direct me towards an actual new starter motor. Moreover, is a new solenoid installed with every Bosch remanufactured starter? I didn't want to use data to watch their entire video, but scanning through it, under "New Replacement Components" I saw: "100% solenoid caps". An internet search suggests that the solenoid cap houses contacts and external connectors. So, does Bosch replace the solenoid wire windings?
