I know WBX motors take special muffler but those of us who have inline motors can often use Universal fit, generic even, regular mufflers. For my 84 with it's hybrid inline Jetta, I've been running a Magnaflow and no cat...The Magnaflow has been on there since I built the ABA, about 100k miles now, and it's still perfect, but louder than I like...So I bought an Amazon Hush Thrush...21" oval with "insides", unlike the Magnaflow which was pretty straight through... For $27, free delivery, I'm going to see if having packing and baffles quiets me down. Ànyone used Thrush mufflers, besides the glass packs we had back in highschool? Will it be quieter, you think,? thanks
