Yes you can remove just the motor without taking out the regulator. You remove the door panel, then remove the 10mm bolts by the motor. Unplug it and you can pull it far enough out of the hole in the lower section of the door to get access to two other 10mm bolts that hold the motor to the regulator. Use a socket and rachet to remove these and the motor will separate from the regulator and you the regulator is still in the door holding the window up.
