I've been investigating Lion batteries and working with them for replacing NiCds in power tools, etc. It definitely could be done for the vanagon house battery. If you are interested in making your own, Julian's video series will give you a good primer. He was replacing the lead acid batts on an electric bike. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=y4dAXWgwqQA
