Subject: mattress cleaning
Content-Type: text/plain; charset="UTF-8"

My little granddaughter had a night time "accident" while sleeping on the top bunk mattress of my 1991 Volkswagen Vanagon GL Campmobile on a camping trip this week. I have washed the mattress covers before (quite a long while ago actually), but don't remember now how I went about it. The label simply says it is "viscose," (same stuff as rayon), and "Do not wring."

My washing machine is the old fashioned kind with an agitator, and of course, a spin cycle. Can I wash the mattress cover in the machine on the "gentle cycle" using cold water? Should I not spin it?

What about the polyurethane foam of the mattress itself? How do I clean that, especially to remove the urine from the foam?
