Speedo bounce seems to be a common problem. Usually it's a dried out head unit, which can be lubed. I've also had some success with Tri-Flow in the cable, which has Teflon. Cable should be one piece bypassing the obsolete OXY counter, remove the cable and spray Tri-Flow into the casing until it runs out clean. Much better than oil or WD-40. https://www.triflowlubricants.com/product/superior-lubricant-aerosol

It also works very well on hard to roll pocket doors in your house!

Keith,

It's been a while since I've worked with 2wd cable, but seeing as no one else has chimed in, I'll take a stab.

Is the square hole in the cap on the hub, where the cable end goes thru, in good shape? I mean is it square to match the cable end? And the little circlip on the cable end in place?

I replaced mine with a Van-Cafe version early this year (Gemo brand) and it reduced the bouncing but still there. Just installed a rebuilt speedo head from GoWesty, and have the same bouncing problems (causing my cruise control to be glitchy). I've done all of the tweaking and adjusting I can to little avail. I've seen good reviews of cables from most of the usual suspect vendors, and bad reviews from most as well. Seems a lot of QC issues with most, apparently. > > What say you list gurus?
