August 21st. Totality somewhere around 10 a.m. It is total across the U.S. from coastal Oregon to coastal S. Carolina. Google, you will find lots of information.

Don't plan to view it without proper eye protection. Again, google for information. We ordered glasses from Rainbow Optical and a filter for our telescope from Thousand Oaks Optical. Both online.

Bonnie and I, and extended family will be at a cabin in the Blue Mountains of Oregon. We will only have totality for 1.5 minute, though at the center line it will be a hair over 3 minutes. But we hope to have a bit of privacy, rather than the madhouse that will prevail at center line. If you are into it, there are first come first serve campgrounds dead center. We figure for that you would need to arrive 14 days ahead, arriving early morning, and compete. No thanks. We will drive our 1991 Volkswagen Vanagon GL Campmobile down from Spokane, other family will arrive from Thousand Oaks in Eurovan campers, and others will come in non-descript vehicles of various sorts. Some will sleep in the cabin, those with campers in them.
