The reason I specified a Carat is that they fit fine, but it’s got power windows.
I have heard of people using other VW window crank handles or extenders on the manual windows.

I am not sure I made it clear, but that's 50 bucks for four speakers--shipped--that fit the LOW mounted front door speakers--cah't speak for the later high front door mounts--and fit, as we have heard, both the tiptop and the west cabinet.

I just installed a set of the speakers under discussion here, The Jensen DUBS240. No problems encountered. They fit like they were designed by Westfalia and sound like, well, good speakers. With the discounted price and the free shipping for two pairs, you can't go wrong for decent speakers that fit for less than $50.
