This will do the job. From experience it does look for a higher voltage and for some installations where alternator output drops at idle or during heavy loads such as AC and radiator fan on high it can do nuisance disconnects. A feature though is the ability to do a forced combine such as may be desired when you need to give the chassis battery a jump. Just make sure your wiring scheme and size supports this load. Only other downside is the terminals are exposed.
