Related question - I had always assumed that modern fuel lines were better quality than in the past. That it was important to change out the old lines. But do the replacement sets deteriorate as badly as the original? If so how frequently should I be replacing them?

Thanks Jeff

The system is not under pressure, and on my '85 there were no clamps at all. The crimp type clamps are fast to install (good for pros), but you need a special tool. The installation is not particularly difficult, just time consuming. Be sure to replace the short hoses on the injectors too, as Ken demonstrates: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=IEWk7iAnl7U > > Stuart > > -----Original Message----- > From: Vanagon Mailing List [mailto:vanagon@gerry.vanagon.com] On Behalf Of Steve Williams > Sent: Thursday, August 17, 2017 10:34 PM > To: vanagon@GERRY.VANAGON.COM > Subject: Re: Fuel Line Replacement Kits Galore! > > Hi, > > The big difference is the type of clamps. > > Go-Westy uses: > Twenty-six (26) special crimp-style ear clamps (two large and 24 small) > > Other's use screw type, which is my preference, but it is quite a controversial topic! > > Additionally, I bought.. > http://www.van-cafe.com/page_494_293/fuel-tank-reseal-kit-b > > What I liked about it was the metal inserts of the cross over pipe rather than plastic of other kits. > > Cheers, > Steve > >> On 17/08/2017 11:01 PM, PB wrote: >> So far I've seen kits and "a la carte parts" from GoWesty, Van-Cafe, >> Bus Depot, and Van-Again.
