Stuart and Neil,

It is a 1984 with the 1.9 liter engine.

It has a pre-filter, and that is the filter that clogged.

Of course, my gas tank is getting rusty and this may be the time to replace it. However, up until now, I had plenty of warning as the filter slowly clogged. The fuel pump sound changed and got noisier. That has always taken a year or two in the past. I have always used filters designed for this van and the WIX is no exception. But, this is the first time that I used a WIX filter (made in Israel). The last time I drove the van, the fuel pump sounded normal. There was no hint of the filter getting dirty. I never had a filter clog completely before.

I have another WIX filter installed from the same lot. I'll see what happens next.

Yes, since the fuel pump is so quiet, I suspect that it has always run twice when the ignition was turned on and I never noticed.

Thanks for your help and advice, Mike
