The latest VW Crafter split away from the Mercedes sprinter in it´s
newest model year. They are now independent vehicles/designs again.

The Transit is of course independent of the other two, and engineered in
Dunton, UK.
I supported its proto builds as one of the wiring designers/engineers in
Dearborn MI and Kansas City.

...not that fascinated by what the Transit offers, compared to
Sprinter/Crafter when it comes to fancy gadgets...
HID headlights...no.
electric park brake...no.
etc.

Of course, the Van/Chassis etc frame styles are all alike between those
competitors.
