Dean:

I have an LT and have had a Transit - neither were mini-motorhomes … both of mine were/are rear-wheel drive cab/chassis with dump bodies; both were 2001 model years imported from Europe.

The Transit (generation 3) had slightly difference body styling; less durable interior; and a 2.2l Duratorq. It is also quite different than previous generations of the Transit …. much like the LT MKII was a very different vehicle than the MKI

I wasn't implying there is collaboration to the point of a single factory badging different brands off a single set of assembly lines. Each vendor's offering is distinctly theirs.

You are likely correct and I took the collaboration literature/storyline too seriously … perhaps the growing commonality between manufactures light fleet vehicles is just the inevitable outcome of outsourcing subsystem design and production to third-parties.

On my way out to install a new set of {Mercedes - made by Bosch} brakes on my VW LT :-)
