On the body my hitch fits all the Vanagons. There is a different version based on the bumper type. The mountings for the fiberglass bumpers are different. Some folks have also had me do some custom stuff such as beefing up for carrying mopeds and small motorcycles.

Don't sell the Vanagon short for towing ability. Set up and running right they can tow quite well. Recently towed a golf cart on a U-Haul trailer from near Atlanta GA. To Barefoot Bay FL. Was about 550 miles. That was with Fun Bus now at 319K. Was about 2,300 pounds.

Why would the year matter for this question? My van is a 85 and Marks a 87 would the hitch be different or there be some other reason the year is important for the Denis hitch?
