Yes, those are the reasons. That and the general loss of power when using the driver’s side switch to raise and lower the passenger side window. I am guessing that this is due to small voltage drops at the numerous wire connections between the switch and motor, since when using the passenger side switch the speed is better and just tolerable.

I need to diagnose the voltage drops between switches and motor, and I may need a new motor or mechanism. It appears that the worm drive in the passenger side mechanism has a little more play than the driver’s side.

This combination of factors, multiplied by my beginner status as a wrencher, makes it seem like a daunting job in the heat and smoke…
