Any where you put them other then the door panel is uncomfortable. I always advise that you double up some masking tape and put it on the dash where you intend to out the switches and drive down the freeway and see that it is a reach. The factory position is perfect. The only spot I would consider other then stock would be on the side if the seat base. Years ago when I converted my first Van from manual to power I had the switches in the left side of the dash by the air grill and even though I had an Express up and down system it still sucked.
