I'm putting in a new gas tank in my '85 westy. 1) I want to replace the lines going to the expansion tanks. The tube coming off the tank appears to be 6.5 mm in diameter, is that right? 2) Will 1/4" inner diameter fuel line work for this? 3) Why does the stock system go cloth-covered->plastic line->cloth-covered?
4) Is there any reason not to just do the whole run in one line of flexible hose? 5) Is it to protect from rubbing a hole in the line? 6) If so, would wiring loom serve that purpose? (Numbered the questions in case anyone wants to refer to a specific one.) Thanks! mike |
