Subject: Wisdom for removing plastic coolant pipes and 2 mystery grounds???
Content-Type: text/plain; charset=utf-8; format=flowed

Hi,

This weekend has been chosen to refurbish the cooling system on my 1991 Westy, manual.

I got the Van Cafe silicone hoses, the Rocky Mountain Westy aluminum coolant tank, stainless steel coolant tower and stainless coolant pipes.

Heater hoses were an oversight (forgotten), so I guess I'll be dropping the gas tank again this winter! It's not that bad of a job once you've done it once.

Today was very productive and I've gotten coolant tower, coolant tank done, as well as all the coolant hoses except for the 2 rad hoses. I've pulled the gas tank and (think) I've got everything disconnected from the long plastic coolant tubes.

I called it a night as I'm hoping that was the last coolant shower for the job... probably not, but one can hope :)

Is there a "best" way to remove the long plastic coolant pipes? I thought I'd ask since I'm quite proud of myself for not having broken anything yet and would like to keep up the lucky streak :)

Also, laying on my back under the van looking up at where the gas tank normally lives, I spotted 2 ground wires!! I traced them a bit, but couldn't really figure out what they could be for. Any ideas? I'm going to remove them, buff the metal, dielectric grease & re-assemble them while I'm at it.

Cheers, Steve
