So with tape measure on cardboard and tape threaded through engine fairly straight, taking into account cardboard thickness and bracket at rear exhaust cross pipe, (which may be "level" with the engine support cradle) from top of alternator to bottom of engine cradle and engine case I'm seeing ~ 20"
