Hi all.

On some gas VW inline 4 cylinder engines, the coolant pump uses a "captive" T bolt.

Hard to say via a .jpg image but if applied properly, is there a good chance JB Weld would hold that bolt head in place when and while the nut is removed? Is JB typically easy to remove once it sets?

I know, arcane question, but in some ways, just replacing the coolant pump (i.e. not pump and housing) can be preferable. That T bolt can get lost during that job. BTDT, though I was doing the job out in the desert at the time!
