Pulled my dead engine out of the van today. Planning to tear it down bit by bit until the leak reveals itself. Then will decide what to do. I'm leaning toward a complete to overhaul with all new seals and gaskets right on out to the tail pipe, a complete ring job on all cylinders, and a valve job. All this will be done subject to what a crankshaft runout test shows. If its to much, and it requires the case be split, the whole thing goes to the scrap heap in favor of a Subaru Engine.
