They certainly do seem to be more durable. I've been using them in my drop lights at work. They were Cree brand, but now Home Depot seems to be favoriting another brand, whose name escapes me right now.

Unfortunately I can't say the same for my replacement instrument panel light bulbs. Two of the four have fallen apart. I think they were from Van Cafe. I do drive on a lot of unimproved roads here in Vermont (and a lot of regular roads that could use some improvements).
