Subject: Selling a non-runner!
Content-Type: text/plain; charset="us-ascii"

Hi list, I'm selling a non-running 1988 Wolfsburg Edition Vanagon with the Weekender package, and a Country Homes pop-top installed.

The smoke got out of the stock waterboxer, now it won't start or run. On cranking, it sounds like one cylinder has no compression.

We are the second owners, have had it since 1994. We call her BlueBerry. The odometer indicates 140,xxx, that is most likely the actual mileage as the speedo and odo have been working the whole time we have had her.

The transmission is good, and was rebuilt shortly after we bought it.

The Van is in overall decent condition, no major rust. There is some body damage at the rear of the slider and into the side panel from hitting a post at a gas station, that was never repaired. There is some surface rust there. Other than that, the body and paint is in good shape. All glass is intact, both jump seats are there, and the Z-bed works properly.

There is some missing molding on the bottom edge of the pop-top. The interior will need some cleaning up, but is in decent condition overall.

I would like to sell BlueBerry to someone who will put her back on the road. She is in too good a shape to part out, and can be a fine low-budget camper for someone.

She is located in Richmond, CA. in the Bay Area. Of course, she will need to be towed or trailered away. Pictures available upon request.

I would rather give first shot at buying BlueBerry to any list members who restore Vanagons or know someone who does.

Thanks,

Ron Antaki
