Or, putting the question another way..... With a stock Vanagon Diesel 1.6 NA, how far below the rear apron is the crank pulley bolt centre? 1" ? 2" ? I know the diesel engine is positioned slightly lower than the gas boxer engine. Before removing my 2.1 WBX, I used a squared up piece of wood to transfer the crank pulley bolt centre to the body (rear apron). This engine had new motor mounts. Currently, it's positioned with crank centre very close to 3" below the rear apron. If positioning the ABA to the factory diesel "height" works for me, I'd do that. Thanks again Neil.
