Good information from all. Been at the pick n pull all day. I have a stock 2.1 that I have added a oil cooler to in the left D pillar with fan if needed. Seem to keep me to be about 20 degrees cooler oil on long inclines. I have replaced the original oil cooler with a late model beetle one last year but just don't trust them and would like to remove all of those failure prone hard to get to hoses if possible. So capping off would be better than bypassing?
Thanks to all
Bob
